… We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: Rom 5:3-4
Patience is known as the ability to take a great deal of affliction from evil people or circumstances without losing temper, without becoming irritated and angry, or without taking vengeance. It includes the capacity to bear pain or trials without complaint, the ability to forbear under severe provocation, and the self-control that keeps one from acting rashedly even though suffering opposition or adversity.
Therefore, because of its nature, not many people are willing to endure situations in their lives. They live life avoiding anything that calls for patience and waiting. However, if one is going to be a victor in life, he must develop patience.
In the opening scripture, it is intimated that patience develops out of tribulations. We cannot assume to develop patience when we are undergoing nothing that requires patience. Only when we are in a situation that calls for restrain in our reaction, can we be able to develop and exercise patience. So the more you avoid undergoing situations, the more your patience is undeveloped. You will notice that you easily get angry; you easily rush to conclusions, all because your patience is undeveloped.
Scripture says count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Jam 1:2-3. So, while undergoing a trial, do not allow your emotions to lead you astray, rather count it all joy and look at your trial as an opportunity to develop patience. Have the eye of faith that see the end from the beginning by acknowledging the benefits in the trial. Remember, the lesson is in the trail. Pay close attention to God’s leading in His word and you will have victory.
