But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Jer. 10:10
A life without God is as one living in a dark room full of obstacles unclear to the eye. God in one's life is a light that shines to give meaning and guide to life as a lamp that shines a path. Without God, the demands of life situations draw people into all sorts of things that make them lose their way in life. Some have ended up resorting to beliefs in creations, some even ask for the dead to pray for them; others make things they have created themselves to be gods of their lives, all because of a vacuum in man’s heart, which only the true God can fill.
The opening scripture declares God as the true God. It goes on to say He is the living God, and an everlasting King. Note that in using the words ‘true’, it is intended to distinguish this God from the false gods. Saying He is the living God, implies that there are other dead gods. This God is King, and His reign has no end, for He reigns forever. Until you recognize God as the true God, until the heart opens to the knowledge of God, life will always be a mystery.
Since the truth is a reality, for God to be true, He has revealed Himself in reality. He is not a counterfeit and pretender as idols, but He is a living reality of what He has revealed Himself to be. He is one we can depend upon for help in life situations; in whom and by whom all essence of truth in life resides. By His son Jesus Christ, God has come into our world and dwelt amongst us as the true living God. Scripture says and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth, John 1:14. That word that made the world we see dwelt among us in physical form to reveal God to us. God is no longer a mystery, as Men and women witnessed and beheld Jesus in all truth and glory. Jesus lived among men as the embodiment of God we can physically relate to. By honouring Jesus and acknowledging Him, we acknowledge the true God.
Scripture says, "and we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we are in God because we are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life." 1 John 5:20 NLT. Notice that Jesus as the son gives us the understanding to know the true God. Son here implies God tabernacled in humanity. By appearing to us in human physical form, he gave us an understanding of God, to know God in a form we can relate to. For there is no God outside Christ. The whole of God is in Christ. We cannot know the true God in any other way, but by knowing Christ. He says, “…He that has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:9.
Therefore, honouring, accepting, and loving Jesus, is to honour and love the true God – the everlasting King, immortal, invisible and the only wise God. Honour Him and He will honour you, by revealing himself in your life. Christ in your life is like having a navigator in your life. Leading and guiding you in a victorious life. God does not come in our lives to condemn us, but to be an ever-present help in our lives. Having Jesus Christ in your life grants you a relationship that banishes loneliness and misery yet offering you the joy of life the world cannot offer. So, before you long for anything in life, give Christ Jesus, our God, his rightful place in your life and all you are searching for will find you. Jesus is the pearl that meets all needs.
The Scripture says, the word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 10:8-9. It is as simple as saying I believe, and God comes into your life forever. Until you confess and believe these words, God is not in your life. The word of faith we believe and confess brings God in our lives. Confess and believe Jesus Christ as the risen Lord, who died to remove your sins and was raised from the dead to justify you before God. When you say and believe those words, you are saved and belong to God. Hallelujah!
